Mom Arrives!!!!

La Casa de Federico Garcia Lorca
Friday I went on an extremely boring excursion to La Casa de Federico Garcia Lorca, a Spanish writer and actor from the 1800s. The house was small and our tour guide talked forever, but nevertheless it was an experience. When I got home, I had received an email from my mom saying that Iberia, the company she was flying with next week, was going on strike for the week and her flight had gotten cancelled. Thanks to her hard work and dedication she was able to find coverage at work and booked a flight to come a week early! It was quite the stressful experience but she got it all taken care of, and she flew out of Boston Saturday afternoon!!!!

Meanwhile, I went to the beach on Saturday with the family. We went to Almunecar to see their apartment on the beach, it is literally right across the street from the beach and has beautiful views of the ocean. We went to a restaurant for lunch, they served only fish so I tried some interesting things, all of which were yummy. After a long relaxing lunch on the beach, Ana Nicole and I played on the playground and on the exercise equipment that is on the beach. After, we went to an ice cream shop and got crapes with nutella and strawberries, it was delicious. We eventually made our way home, the ride was scenic through all the mountains. We went out to a bar with Olivia to watch the Granada vs Barcelona Futbol game. Barcelona won 2-1, but we got some great tapas nevertheless.

Sunday I woke up and headed to the airport with the family to pick up Mom!! We got there plenty early and hung out until her plane arrived. Ana was so excited to meet her, and I was ecstatic when I saw her in the terminal. I am so proud of her for flying all by herself, especially at such short notice! I can't even believe she is here!
Mommy is here!!! And unpacking!
We hung out at the house all afternoon. We gave the girls their gifts (we bought them Twister and Headbands) so obviously we played those for most of the afternoon. Javier and Beatriz cooked a huge lunch for Mom, it was very yummy and she did an awesome job talking with them. I think she's doing better than Nicole and I did on our first day here. Obviously it's tough for her, but everyone is just so grateful to have her that it doesn't even matter. After lunch she played Headbands with us, and then took a well needed nap. She tried to fight the exhaustion but I tucked her into bed anyway, and she slept wonderfully. I am just so thankful to have her here, and for all her work she did to get here. It wasn't easy, but definitely worth it. We are going to have a fun couple of weeks together!

I spent the night with the girls doing hair. Nicole straightened Beatriz's hair and then I braided it. It came out so pretty!
It came out so good!! First try too :)
