Happy Weekend!

Happy Weekend! I was really looking forward to a relaxing weekend after my crazy busy week, but that didn't happen. Friday I did some homework and went shopping to give myself a break. I then came home and did more work and went to the high school to have conversation classes again with the students. On the way home we found ourselves in the middle of a parade type thing in honor of International Women's Day, which was cool. There was music and people dressed up with signs, it got me excited for Semana Santa. When I got home Javier said he would be back shortly and we would be going out for dinner, but I ended up falling asleep because he was late. I woke up when he got back and we went out for tapas. Nothing too exciting.

Saturday I really wanted to curl up in bed and relax watching a movie on my laptop, but Javier insisted we go to the beach even though it was raining. Nicole and I agreed to go thinking we would be home around 5, but we were wrong. We ended up going to the beach for lunch and met Javier's parents and sister. The lunch was good but Ana was quite annoying and wouldnt leave Nicole and I alone. After lunch we figured we would be going home, but instead we went to their beach apartment to measure the rooms for new furniture. Then, we went to the family's house in the countryside to grab some things, and then we went to visit Javier's brother. I was so tired and just wanted to go home, but that didn't happen. We then went to Javier's sisters house for dinner, she made homemade pizza which was very good. Her boyfriend showed us all his "toys"; he owns an old jeep, three motorcycles, a mountainbike, and he likes remote control cars. We finally got back to the house around 1AM, much much later than anticipated. I went to bed almost immediately.

Sunday I took a free tango class at the congress building here in Granada. There was a tango group touring Spain, and they stopped in Granada for an exposition and gave a free class. It was very fun and I actually understood everything the teacher was saying which was good. When it came time for partnering with people, none of us had partners, but one of the instructors practiced our moves with us which was nice. There was also an older man who didn't have a partner, and the instructor told us to dance with him. Turns out he is from Ireland so he could speak English in the coolest accent! He was the sweetest old man, like an Irish grandfather. It was adorable. Me and my friends weren't the best at the tango, but it was still a fun experience.

I spent the rest of the day writing a paper for my politics class. I have to write a 3 page paper, single spaced on the exploitation of children in the workplace, all in Spanish. After hours of research and boredom I finally finished! It was quite the accomplishment!

Fun fact: all you guys in the US just moved your clocks forward an hour, but here in Spain we wont be doing that for another couple of weeks. So, till then there will only be a 5 hour difference between us, rather than 6. Woohoo!!

New Puppies!
